Refund / Dispute Policy

This policy explains how refunds and disputes are handled on BeanJars. BeanJars is a marketplace platform; outcomes depend on the transaction type, the listing details, and the evidence available.

1. Transaction Types

Shippable items (online checkout): may support online payments and escrow-style holding where applicable.
Non-shippable items (e.g., property/land): typically involve direct contact (call/WhatsApp) and may not be covered by escrow unless explicitly stated.

2. Escrow Release (If Applicable)

For eligible transactions, funds may be held temporarily to support safer exchanges. Where escrow applies, funds are scheduled to be released to the seller after 7 days unless the transaction is resolved earlier or a dispute is raised within the allowed dispute window.

3. Dispute Window

If you believe there is an issue (wrong item, missing item, non-delivery, significantly not as described), you must raise a dispute before escrow release. After funds are released, refunds may be limited or may need to be handled directly between buyer and seller, depending on the circumstances.

4. Evidence Required

To review a dispute, we may request evidence such as order details, chat history, photos/videos, delivery tracking, proof of postage, and any other relevant records. Users are encouraged to keep all communications within the platform.

5. What BeanJars Can Do

Depending on the case, BeanJars may place a transaction on hold during review, request more information, and take actions allowed by the platform flow (such as account restrictions for abuse). BeanJars does not guarantee a specific outcome and may be limited by payment provider rules and available evidence.

6. Chargebacks and Payment Provider Rules

Where payments are processed by third-party payment service providers, disputes and chargebacks may also be subject to the provider’s rules and timelines.

7. Fraud and Abuse

If fraud or abuse is suspected, we may suspend accounts, remove listings, and cooperate with lawful requests by authorities where required.

8. Updates

This policy may be updated from time to time to improve safety and compliance. Updates will be posted on this page.
