BeanJars brings different kinds of buying, selling and discovery into one marketplace. A useful marketplace must make room for a phone that can be delivered, furniture that needs a closer look, a vehicle that requires inspection, and a service that begins with a conversation. Our hybrid model reflects those differences, helping people understand how a listing is offered and what to consider before taking the next step.
1. Who we are
BeanJars is operated by BEANJARS MARKETPLACE SDN. BHD., Company No. 202601040277 (1702372-V). We provide the online marketplace through which individuals and businesses publish listings, explore opportunities and communicate about transactions. The seller or other listing party supplies the goods, property, employment opportunity or service described in a listing. Our role is to operate the platform and its supported marketplace processes.
We aim to make information useful before a decision is made. Clear descriptions, realistic expectations and an understandable transaction method matter as much as a product photograph. BeanJars' policies explain the responsibilities that accompany participation and the routes available when something needs attention.
2. A marketplace with room for different needs
The marketplace spans general goods, electronics, home and personal items, vehicles, property, jobs, services and business listings. These categories connect people with very different needs: replacing everyday equipment, finding an item for a hobby, comparing a commercial opportunity or arranging to inspect something locally. Category availability does not remove the conditions that apply to a particular item or regulated activity.
A detailed listing should help a prospective buyer distinguish the actual offer from assumptions. Condition, measurements, included components, location, availability and the seller's role can all affect suitability. For property, jobs and services, the scope of the opportunity and the authority of the person advertising it deserve particular attention.
3. How our hybrid marketplace works
Some BeanJars listings are suitable for supported online transactions and delivery. Other listings are intended for direct discussion, inspection, collection or a Meet-up arrangement. Both belong within the marketplace, subject to the law and our rules. A listing does not become prohibited simply because it cannot travel through an integrated parcel service.
For example, a lawful large household item may require collection or a suitable separately arranged delivery, while a vehicle or property transaction needs its own inspection and contractual process. The relevant listing mode and available options guide the next step. An arrangement made directly between parties does not acquire the protections of a supported checkout order merely because the introduction occurred on BeanJars.
4. For buyers and people exploring listings
Start with the description, photographs, price and transaction mode. Ask about details that affect your decision, including defects, compatibility, quantity, accessories and delivery or collection arrangements. A low price does not replace evidence of ownership or an opportunity to assess the offer. Keep a record of important answers and the terms you agree.
Where supported checkout is available, review the order and payment information before confirming. Where the listing calls for direct contact, establish who you are dealing with and how inspection, payment and handover will work. Do not share passwords or verification codes, or follow a request to pay a separate fee to receive money or unlock a refund.
5. For sellers and listing parties
A useful listing tells the buyer what is actually being offered. Describe the item or service accurately, use photographs you have the right to publish, disclose material defects and identify relevant restrictions. Keep price, stock and availability current. Make clear whether you are selling your own item, representing a business or acting with the owner's authority.
Different offers require different preparation. A parcel seller must consider packaging and carrier acceptance; a direct seller must plan safe inspection and handover; a service provider must explain scope and qualifications. Sellers remain responsible for applicable licences, permissions, product standards, consumer obligations and taxes. BeanJars' listing facilities do not substitute for those responsibilities.
6. Shippable listings
Our shippable categories support the marketplace's online purchase route where the listing and transaction qualify. Available stock, a valid price, the type of offer and other transaction conditions affect whether purchase controls are available. A category label is a starting point; it is not a guarantee that every item within that category can be accepted by every delivery service.
Size, contents, value, batteries, liquids, packaging and destination can all affect carrier eligibility. Sellers must establish that the actual parcel meets the selected service's requirements. Buyers should review the offered delivery option and ask about special handling needs before committing to an order.
7. Direct and Meet-up listings
Listings outside the shippable category model display the 🤝 Meet-up badge. This signals a direct arrangement rather than the ordinary supported parcel-checkout route. Depending on the lawful offer, parties may discuss an inspection, local meeting, collection, service appointment or other appropriate direct arrangement. Vehicle, property, employment and service listings naturally involve considerations beyond parcel delivery.
Plan meetings with personal safety in mind. Use an appropriate public location where practicable, tell someone about the arrangement and avoid pressure to commit before checking the offer. Obtain suitable professional advice for substantial property, vehicle or business transactions. For current Meet-Up sales, buyers arrange payment directly with sellers. BeanJars does not receive, collect, process, hold or distribute the sale payment, and receives no portion of that payment. The Meet-Up badge is not a payment guarantee or an endorsement of another person's claims.
8. Understanding Buyer Protection
The Buyer Protection badge appears on listings in BeanJars' shippable categories. It identifies the listing's transaction category and points buyers towards the supported online purchase model. Actual protection depends on an eligible order using supported checkout and meeting the Refund / Dispute Policy. The badge alone does not protect a privately transferred payment or certify an item's authenticity, safety or carrier acceptance.
Buyer Protection provides a process for reporting and reviewing eligible transaction concerns. It is not an unconditional promise that every complaint will result in a refund. Read the linked policy for eligibility, evidence, deadlines and possible remedies. Statutory consumer rights remain distinct from the platform's protection process.
9. Payments and transaction records
Supported payments use the payment methods and Payment Service Provider process offered for the transaction. Creating an order, opening a payment page or receiving a message does not itself establish successful payment. Buyers and sellers should rely on the applicable confirmed payment information and retain their transaction references.
Payment confirmation, a refund decision, provider processing and seller payout are separate events. BeanJars does not describe an order's completion as proof that the seller has already received funds. Our policies explain these distinctions so that a status update is not mistaken for a bank-credit promise.
10. Delivery that fits the transaction
Integrated delivery brings order and shipment information into the supported purchase process. Logistics providers apply their own acceptance and handling requirements. Some lawful goods require a service outside ordinary parcel delivery, and some cannot be sent through a particular carrier at all. A permitted direct arrangement must still comply with legal, safety and marketplace rules.
Keep packaging, tracking and handover records when an issue arises. A carrier's loss or damage assessment is separate from BeanJars' review of an eligible buyer-seller dispute. Neither a shipping label nor a tracking entry promises universal compensation.
11. Trust, safety and responsible participation
Responsible trading depends on honest information and proportionate checks. We expect users to respect intellectual property, other people's privacy and the difference between a question and harassment. False listings, impersonation, manipulated evidence and attempts to bypass restrictions undermine everyone who uses the marketplace.
If a listing appears unsafe, fraudulent or unlawful, provide its reference and the facts supporting your concern. Do not publish another person's identity documents or contact details to pursue a complaint. BeanJars may review reports and take appropriate platform action; an unresolved allegation should not be presented as a proven fact.
12. Rules that work together
The Terms of Service explain participation and transaction responsibilities. Our Prohibited Items policy distinguishes marketplace bans, regulated offers and shipping limitations. The Privacy Policy, in English and Bahasa Malaysia, describes how information is handled. Read these documents together with the listing and the specific options offered for your transaction.
BeanJars' commitment is to a marketplace whose rules are understandable and whose different transaction models are clearly described. We welcome specific questions and reports that help identify inaccurate information or a problem requiring attention. The company and contact details below identify the operator responsible for these marketplace policies.
